This behavior has the trade-mark qualities of communication that is personal\, global\, out of context\, inflammatory\, and negative. This communication brings up intense negative feelings of our own and often inspires us to respond in kind. Destructive escalation   and lost productivity - is often the result. How do we respond? Do we respond?\n\n\n\n    This workshop will offer a specific format for responding in a clear and informative way\, and criteria for gauging whether or not we need to respond at all. The approach is based on the work of Bill Eddy\, author of Biff: Quick Responses to High Conflict People\, Their Personal Attacks\, Hostile Email and Social Media Meltdowns. (Cork: BookBaby\, 2011).\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Our Presenter . . . Sophie Morse\, M.S.\, M.Div. has been the Training Coordinator at the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) of Kitsap County since 2012\, and a volunteer mediator with the DRC since 2007. As Training Coordinator and mentor mediator\, Sophie has presented over 300 hours for the DRC on conflict resolution\, conflict theory\, and communication skills to a broad array of audiences.\n\n\n\nAdditionally\, Sophie currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington Mediation Association. Prior to mediating\, Sophie worked for 20 years as a professional mariner and in outdoor education working with inner-city youth\, adult learners\, and Elderhostel clients. In her spare time Sophie can be found traveling to visit her family in New England\, participating in her local church\, playing\n\nguitar\, and spending time in the great outdoors.\n\n\n\nThe Chamber Professional Management Roundtables are offered on the first Wednesday of most months at Reid Real Estate in Belfair - Thank you!  Complimentary baked goods and coffee.* Topics and facilitators/speakers vary. If you have a suggestion as to future topics\, please let us know. These sessions are meant to provide a smaller group style meeting to encourage discussion and sharing about various businesses\, ideas\, and experiences.\n\n\n\nThere is no charge for the program.
