Chief Criminal Deputy of Patrol Ryan Spurling
Mason County Sheriff’s Office
Chief Spurling commands the Police Operations Division for North and South Precincts of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. He is responsible for Patrol, Special Units, including Special Operations Group, SWAT, School Resource Officers, K9, Traffic, Marine Operations and Search and Rescue. Chief Spurling is a PIO as well. Chief Spurling is a long term Mason County resident and is very involved in our community through volunteering as a coach, teaching Martial Arts, serving in community groups and church service. Chief Spurling is third in command of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and is directly responsible for command of patrol operations.
Chief Spurling has a B.S. in Business Management, is Retired from the Washington State Patrol after 25 years, has 22 years in the Military (Active and Reserve), and was activated for Iraqi Freedom in 2003
